The "big man" breaks another record this time for blocked shots.

University of Montana center Brian Qvale now holds the Grizzlies' single-season record for blocked shots.

The 6-foot-11 senior from Williston, N.D., blocked three shots during Saturday's away game against Northern Arizona, bringing his total to 72. The previous record of 71 blocked shots was held by Geraldine native and former Griz standout Daren Engellant during the 1990-1991 season.

Qvale's 72 rejections this season ties him for the fifth most per season in Big Sky Conference history. Kelvin Smith of Idaho had 72 blocks during the 1982-1983 season.

Qvale recently became the league's all-time shot blocker with 224. Engellant held the former Big Sky and UM records with 212 blocks from 1988 to 1992.
