Throwback: HBO’s The Sopranos Mention of Montana
Woke up this morning. Got yourself a gun. Your mama always said you'd be the chosen one.
What a great theme song and what a fantastic show The Sopranos is.
I'm currently in the middle of watching The Sopranos for the first time. Yes, I realize the show ended in 2007, and yes I realize I'm not the fastest to get to some of the all-time great TV shows and movies. Off the top of my mind, here's a list of iconic TV shows and movies I haven't seen yet:
- The Wire
- The Twilight Zone
- Better Call Saul
- Fight Club
- The Matrix
- The Godfather Part II
- Schindler's List
- Inception
I will get to them, ok?
Montana's mention in HBO's The Sopranos
In season 6, the state of Montana is brought up briefly by Tony Soprano's daughter Meadow Soprano (played wonderfully by Jamie Lynn-Sigler, who has recently reappeared on our television screens as a spokesperson for a drug called Kesimpta).
In Montana, the fossilized remains of a Tyrannosaurus rex yielded soft tissue that indicated a definite link between dinosaurs and modern birds." -Sopranos Season 6 Episode 4: The Fleshy Part of the Thigh

There's Montana's 5 seconds of fame in the hit show Sopranos. Dinosaurs. Tony Soprano loves dinosaurs.
What other Montana-pop culture references can you think of? The first one that comes to mind is Lake Missoula by Mt. Joy and Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners. It's a great song.
