This was a fun conversation.

I was lucky enough to have country music icon ✨Shania Twain ✨ call into the Daily Drive with Ace Sauerwein on Thursday night's show.

It was so monumental that my Mom made sure to listen to the show just HOURS after having her knee replaced!

She's a dedicated mom, and Shania is a massive draw.

Shania's history with Montana

This will be the first time Shania performs in Missoula, but not her debut in the Treasure State. Twain performed in Montana for the first time back in December 1998 in Billings at MetraPark Arena (now known as First Interstate Arena).

As far as I can tell, this will be her first show back in Montana since then.

Missoula's first Shania Twain show will hold a special place in Shania's heart.

"Missoula will be the first stop of my last tour on the Queen of Me [album]," Twain said. "The Queen of Me era is over after that. I'm in the studio, in the Bahamas in fact, writing a new album and recording a new album. So this summer is celebrating the end of the Queen of Me era."

I asked Twain if there is an album name, but there's no answer... yet.

Is Shania Twain Rooting for the Edmonton Oilers?

We had to talk sports with Shania, as well. The Canadian-born superstar is a big sports fan, so is she cheering for the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final?

"Is that a trick question?" Twain joked.

"I will say that I love hockey a lot, it being our national sport... The issue is that so many players are exported out of Canada into teams, internationally... I'm sort of torn sometimes because I know there are so many players on the American teams, but I love the Oilers, and I love the province... But I'm a fan of my Oilers!"

Shania and I discussed several topics, including album name origins, the top question she received during media interviews, what she's doing for her 60th birthday celebration and more.

All of the Women Who've Won Country Entertainer of the Year Awards

Entertainer of the Year is by and large the biggest award an artist can receive in the world of country music. To put it simply, winning that trophy means you crushed the country music game with music, touring, and festivals, and you likely also found mass appeal outside of the genre.

It's a highly coveted award, and historically, it's been handed out to more men than women. Just 10 women in country music have heard their names called at the end of the night at either the CMA Awards or the ACM Awards over the years.

Here's a list of women who've won country Entertainer of the Year awards.
