MUD, Missoula’s Awesome Tool Library Invites You to a Garden Party
Many of you may not know that you can check out tools in Missoula for the extremely low price of an annual membership.
And we're not talking about a measly handful of saws, sanders, shovels and screwdrivers. Would you believe in the neighborhood of 3,700 different implements for whatever tasks you might have!
THE DIRT ON MUD
The Missoula Urban Demonstration Project, or "MUD," is a nonprofit tool library, demonstration site, and skill-sharing hub rolled into one. Since 1981, MUD has worked toward the vision of a world in which tools and skills are shared for the betterment of our community.
MUD empowers people to build a more sustainable community through tool sharing and hands-on learning. Through loaning out tools to members, education workshops, demonstration, and celebration, they are committed to sharing resources and knowledge with everyone in our community.
Annual memberships to MUD are based on family income and range from $35 to $150 annually. There are even scholarships available. If you are a DIY-er, but just don't want to invest in tools and other items that you may only use once, the MUD Tool Library is the place you need to "check out." The tools are in tremendous shape, and how-to advice is readily available it you need it.
AND DID WE SAY CELEBRATION?
Yep, for the past 34 years, MUD members, supporters, volunteers, and neighbors have come together to celebrate the achievements of the organization and the individuals and families they've inspired. The annual MUD Garden Party is Saturday, September 6, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Gather at the MUD Tool Library and Demonstration Site at 1527 Wyoming Street for an evening of food, live music, raffle items, and festivities—a perfect way to enjoy a late summer evening in Missoula. Early Bird Tickets on sale now!
Stop by during open hours to become a member and to borrow, return, or donate tools. MUD is open Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 4pm-7pm and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-4pm.
