Congratulations to not one but two University of Montana Grizzly soccer players for their performances last week.

The Griz soccer team turned in an unbeaten finish at the Montana Invitational over the weekend and the Big Sky Conference honored them with offensive and defensive players of the week.

Sophomore goalkeeper Claire Howard posted a pair of shutouts, as Montana defeated Vermont 1-0 Friday and played to a scoreless draw against North Dakota Sunday.

Fifth-year senior Hallie Widner was named offensive player of the week after scoring the game's only goal in the win over Vermont. That game-winner came in the 90th minute of the match.

The Griz will now be closing out their pre-Big Sky Conference schedule on the road over the next two and a half weeks. Your next chance to see them play at home will be Sunday, September 23 when they host Northern Colorado at South Campus Stadium.

Great job, gals! Keep it going.
