The PBS National Memorial Day Concert, set for Sunday evening, will honor the nation's men and women in uniform, as well as their families.

The free concert commemorates the 151st anniversary of Memorial Day and will be held on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

Missoula’s Jack Reneau and Susan Campbell Reneau are at the event, and took part in a dress rehearsal Saturday night.

Mr. Reneau will be taking part in the event, along with many other American veterans.

Hosting the event will be actors Joe Mantegna and Mary McCormack, with appearances by actor Sam Elliott, former Secretary of State Gen. Colin Powell, singer Patti LaBelle, country artist Alison Krauss,  actors Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Jackson, singers Amber Riley, Justin Moore, Gavin DeGraw.

Some of the performers will include: Leona Lewis, the National Symphony Orchestra led by Jack Everly, U.S. Army Chorus and Army Voices, U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters, Soldiers' Chorus, U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants.

Of particular attention is the attention to be given to the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion in Normandy, France, in which the aircraft ‘Miss Montana’ and many others will be taking part by flying over the English Channel with smokejumpers parachuting into France.
