
Missoula City Band Announces Free Summer Concert Schedule
For well over 100 years, it has been one of the mainstay events on the Missoula summer music calendar.
It is no secret that Missoula has more than its fair share of outstanding musicians. Fans wanting to hear fine band music performed mainly by local talent in an open-air, band shell concert atmosphere on beautiful summer nights have been flocking to Bonner Park in Missoula. And this coming week, the tradition continues. Yep, it's Missoula City Band season!
Missoula City Band concerts are free and open to the public. Performances get underway at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings beginning this Wednesday, June 14. Director Gary Gillett adds another year to his magnificent career leading the band. Here is the 9-show menu that Gary has prepared for you this season.

JUNE 21 – SUMMER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION WITH ELIN PETERSON
JUNE 28 – OUR CITY BAND 100 YEARS AGO
JULY 5 – PATRIOTIC POSTLUDE
JULY 12 – MISSOULA’S COOLEST COUPLE
JULY 19 – INTERNATIONAL CHORAL FESTIVAL
JULY 26 – BITTERROOT COMMUNITY BAND
AUGUST 2 – SWEET ADELINES AND ALLIE BATY POWELL
AUGUST 9 – ALL-TIME FAVES AND SENTINEL HIGH SCHOOL ’63 REUNION
And please note two additional "Special Gigs":
JULY 29, DALY MANSION, HAMILTON AT 1:00 P.M.
AUGUST 1, MISSOULA PADDLEHEADS BASEBALL GAME, 7:00 P.M.
So bring the lawn chairs, the blankets, whatever makes you comfy, and enjoy a free hour of magnificent music. And, if the kids are too restless, let them frolic in one of Missoula's prettiest city parks while YOU enjoy the music.
