Looking for Family Fun? The Montana State Fair Continues this Week
If you've ever been to the fair in Great Falls, you'll notice that everything is bigger and better, it's even a full two weeks long. Not to say that our fair isn't awesome, I LOVE our Western Montana Fair, but the one in Great Falls is the actual State Fair, which means they have a pretty excellent carnival and concerts each night. If you're looking for a road trip with friends, or an excuse to get out of town for a couple of days with the family, the Montana State Fair is a solid destination.
The fair just began it's second week of 2021 at the ExpoPark, the theme this year is "it's all good in the 406." There are a few concerts this week, but most notably, Chevelle will perform this Friday at 9 p.m. Tickets are $34 and you can buy yours online here.
My son and his friends just returned from a weekend of fun at the Great Falls fair and they are raving about a ride called Speed. I'd never heard of it, they said it was bigger and faster than any ride in Missoula, so I looked it up, looks like a barfer alright! I haven't been to that fair recently, but the few times I went in the past were really fun, it's a very clean, organized fair, and the fair food is awesome. As you can see by the tweet below, the Vikings are incredible.
If you're holding out for our Western Montana Fair, it begins on Wednesday, August 11th, which some also know as "Primus Day". BTW, you can still get tickets to witness Primus' tribute to Rush here. As for the Missoula fair, discount tickets for the events and carnival are now on sale at Noon's, get 'em while they're hot, you don't want to be the procrastinator at the fair paying more than everyone else. See ya there!
