I’m Not Dead, Just Ask My Insurance Company

What strange and intriguing thoughts must go through the head of a guy faking his own death.

A desperate Florida businessman decided that would be a nifty way to scam insurance companies.  But Associated Press says Jose Lantigua will be facing a lot of prison time, especially for a dead guy. He was arrested while applying for a passport in someone else's name.

Now, we could use some adult humor about Jose's wife thinking he'd been dead for a long time, but she was in on it, too, and pleaded guilty to taking part in the scam.

A "stiff" sentence for Mr. Lantigua? Yep, up to 50 years in prison, meaning he might need a funeral before being released.
