Early Morning Missoula Fire Stopped in the Knick of Time Near Mount Sentinel
A little after 7:30 this morning, 911 received a call about a house fire on Maurice Avenue, near the base of Mount Sentinel in Missoula."We arrived on scene with smoke and flames showing from the structure," Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Brandt said. "The access was very limited, and so the guys had to haul hoses up the hill to the structure and we finally got a good stop on the fire. I believe the fire started around the deck area and extended to the outside of the structure and up into the roof. But we were able to get there in time and stopped it from doing too much damage inside."
Brandt said no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
