UPDATE: Body Found in Yellowstone River Identified

The Yellowstone County Sheriff released information today (Wednesday 6/15) about the body found in the Yellowstone River on June 13.
According to the press release, the body has been positively identified as Arshanda Knowshisgun of Lame Deer.
Knowshisgun was reported missing by the YCSO on Monday (6/13) after she was last seen in Billings Heights in the early hours of Sunday, June 12.
The medical examiner reported "no sign of foul play," and evidence suggests the cause of death was drowning, according to the press release. No official cause of death will be confirmed until the results of a toxicology report return from the lab.
The Sheriff’s Office investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have information about Ms. Knowshisgun’s activity as recently as this past Sunday or Monday, and has not already spoken to law enforcement, please contact the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office at 406-256-2929.
The body of an adult female was discovered in the Yellowstone River near the East Bridge late Monday, according to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder. The body was initially found by onlookers who were observing the rising water level of the river.
According to a press release from Sheriff Linder released today (06/14) at 3:05 p.m., Yellowstone County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a location near the East Bridge at around 9:00 p.m. on June 13, where the body was discovered and transported to the Billings morgue.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday (06/15) morning. The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office does not suspect foul play, however, the investigation will be treated as though it were a homicide until a cause of death has been determined. The identity of the deceased is unknown and will be confirmed during the autopsy.
