Compensation Possible for Montanans Bilked by Western Union Wire Transfer Scams
There will be some justice available soon for Montana victims of a number of national wire transfer scams.
"Anybody who used Western Union wire transfer between January 1, 2004 and January 19th of 2017 is eligible to receive a refund of that money if they were involved in sending money to a scammer," said Montana Department of Justice spokeswoman Anastasia Burton.
Those who have already filed complaints should receive more info soon.
"Within the next week or so you should be getting something in the mail from the claims administrator, their name is Gilardi & Co., and you will know that that claim form is legitimate because it will have a claim ID and a pin number, it will also have instructions for you, explaining how you can file your claim to receive a refund," Burton said.
Burton says there is a timeline the public needs to be aware of: all completed claim forms must be submitted before February 12th of next year.
