There's a new wrinkle in the increasingly goofy "DeflateGate" mystery.  Fox Sports says the NFL is "zeroing in" on a, quote, "person of interest."  He's a Patriots locker room attendant, and he's already been interviewed.

Supposedly, the NFL is trying to figure out whether this person committed any "wrongdoing" . . . or if he's just a perfect, low-level FALL GUY.

Sources say there's surveillance video showing the attendant taking the footballs from the official's locker room into another room at Gillette Stadium before bringing them out to the field.

But we're hearing that the room this guy took the balls into was a BATHROOM, and he was only in there for about 90 seconds, which doesn't seem like enough time to deflate 11 balls.

Also, he had two bags of balls with him:  12 for the Patriots and 12 for the Colts.

Yesterday, Brady denied instructing anyone to deflate footballs for him.  He said, quote, "Absolutely not.  No, I didn't.  And I haven't.  And I never will."
