The Hamilton High School stadium will be dark Friday night, October 1. East Helena will not be coming to Hamilton for a Class A football game against the Broncs October 1. The game apparently will not be rescheduled.

However, look out for next week! October 4th through 8th is Homecoming for the Hamilton school. And the activities will fill up the week, including the blazing Homecoming Bonfire Wednesday at the Bitterroot Aquatic Center, across Kurtz Avenue from HHS, with dinner for the athletes at 5:30 p.m. and the bonfire at 7 p.m.

All Hamilton schools - high school, middle school and elementary - will have special "dress up" days during the week. Monday is Holiday Day (dress for your favorite holiday), Tuesday is Twin or Duo Day, Wednesday is Color Day with each class a different color (seniors-pink, juniors-green, sophomores-blue, freshmen-yellow and Teachers and staff-Tye-Dyed. Thursday is Decade Day (pick your favorite decade in history), and Friday is Spirit Day.

Hamilton High School student activities include Candy Cane toss Monday, Class Relay Race Tuesday, Tug-o-war Wednesday, Class Dodgeball Thursday, a Lip Sync battle and the Dunk Tank on Friday.

Friday wraps it all up:

  • Homecoming Assembly at 2:25 p.m.
  • Homecoming Parade in downtown Hamilton at 4 p.m.
  • Homecoming Football at 7 p.m.
  • Homecoming Dance after the game until 11 p.m.
  • And the week is filled with some great sporting events, both home and away. Tuesday, Corvallis will go against Hamilton in volleyball at the HHS gym, with freshmen at 4:15 p.m., JV at 5:45 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m. The HHS Soccer team will be in Stevensville Tuesday, with the boys at 3 p.m. and the girls at 5 p.m. Thursday, the homecoming Soccer game against Frenchtown at the Hamilton field - girls at 4:30 p.m. and boys at 6:30 p.m. and it's Senior Night! Also Thursday, HHS Cross Country will be Helena and Volleyball will be playing at Frenchtown.

    Friday, the Homecoming football game will pit Hamilton against Ronan at 7 p.m. Hamilton has been regularly rated at the top of the Class A high school football teams this season. And, as usual, that game will be heard on 1240 KLYQ Radio and www.klyq.com. And for those you hungering for football on the radio this weekend, KLYQ will have the UM Grizzly game Saturday night.
