My First Time Eating Brown Trout

I have always been a fan of fish but don't keep fish while I am fly fishing I usually catch and release. Although I am not opposed to eating them when other people present the opportunity.

I had a friend who is an avid hunter and angler and does a lot of 'field to table" dinners. He had some elk from this last hunting season, and some brown trout that he had just caught two days before here and was cooking up dinner! Sounded great and I couldn't wait to join.

I was impressed with Brown Trout, it was not fishy at all and had a real mild taste. Some trout can have a distinct taste but this was a good fish for those that do not like the fishy taste.

There are a lot of areas that you can catch Brown Trout here, so this is a possibility if you are out angling.
