Too much superstar quarterback. Too many ineffective offensive plays early. Too little too late. In what shaped up to be potentially another improbable comeback by the Montana Grizzlies, there was no last-minute miracle this week. But after falling behind 42-17 to start the fourth quarter, the Griz ran off 20 unanswered points, but did not get their hands on the ball for one last try as Eastern Washington held on for a 42-37 Big Sky Conference football victory Saturday in Washington Grizzly Stadium. It was a stellar performance by Eastern quarterback Vernon Adams who threw six touchdown passes. A second conference loss probably means no title, but a 10-2 season is still in front of you, boys. Keep fightin' the good fight. DB
