Alex Rodriguez has released a hand-written apology to the media as he prepares to return to baseball's New York Yankees.

A-Rod, who sat out all of the 2014 season over his use of performance-enhancing drugs, says he won't face the media directly and that this will be the only time he addresses the situation.

The note says that he takes "full responsibility for the mistakes that led to my suspension for the 2014 season" and that he "regrets that my actions made the situation worse than it needed to be. To Major League Baseball, the Yankees, the Steinbrenner family, the Players Association and you, the fans, I can only say I'm sorry."

I know I am excited about taking in America's past time soon, weather is getting better and it's time for some ball.
