Every type of book you might imagine will be on sale this next week at the annual Friends of the Bitterroot Public Library Used Book Sale. These are not books from the Hamilton library shelves - they're books donated by the reading public from their home collections. The sales in the weeklong event, September 25-29, will help the library buy their own books and other materials to satisfy the multimedia needs of the library patrons.

The books are at "bargain basement" prices, which is appropriate because the sale is in the daylight basement meeting room of the library on State Street. There's an "early bird" sale Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. with a $3 admission. No admission charge Wednesday through Saturday. The hours are Wednesday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 11 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. When you select your books, you pile them up and the cost is $1 per inch through Friday. Saturday is the almost famous Bag Sale, when you fill a grocery bag and pay $3 for the whole thing. There are some special books, too - a silent auction will determine who gets those. If you need more information call the library at 363-1670. The Friends of the Bitterroot Public Library book sale - it's what you need to get through the long winter months.
