For the fourth year in a row, Missoula interfaith group SALAM - Standing Alongside America's Muslims - has declared April 8th through April 12th to be Celebrate Islam Week in Missoula. The idea is to fight Islamophobia through community events.

The organization is kicking things off Monday, April 8th with a banquet and keynote speaker, which is being held at the First Presbyterian Church on Fifth Street. The banquet includes dishes prepared by Muslim refugees and immigrants in Missoula.

Other events during the week include a film screening on Wednesday, a discussion about Islamic Faith and Culture on Thursday, and an Arabic calligraphy workshop on Friday.
