After rain and snowmelt flooded areas of the Bitterroot Valley and closed I-90, some local citizens are concerned that the worst is yet to come

Missoula County Disaster and Emergency Services Director Adriane Beck chaired a public meeting this week to discuss what a team of officials had been planning for in the past four months.

It’s been a wet and cloudy October so far for most of Montana, but Phillips and Valley County are experiencing a deluge that has left some roads flooded.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the rest of the week in the Missoula area, but Meterologist Luke Robinson with the National Weather Service said there are more than thunderstorm watches to be aware of this evening.

2011 was a devastating year for flooding in western Montana, but one county official says the spring of 2014 has the potential to surpass it.

With wildfires in Montana and deadly floods in Colorado. Montanans are being reminded that September is National Preparedness Month.

The National Weather Service is warning residents along the Red River on the ND/MN  border to be ready for flooding again. Forecasters say the river could crest at one of it's five highest levels ever. A previous flood had the Red cresting at 38 feet and this year it could go higher...
