Unless you're a Bitterrooter, you may not have heard of Carlton, but we can practically guarantee that you've passed through it on your way down 93. Now, take a look at it from a height you've never experienced.
It doesn't take a very long drive out of Missoula going Westbound on I-90 before you're surrounded by the mounds and valleys of the Western side of Lolo National Forest. We climbed to the top of Martel Mountain, and from 5500 feet up these rolling peaks seem to go on forever.
