At the end of the play (spoiler alert), three characters lay dead on the stage as Montana Shakespeare in the Parks' Othello wrapped up its Hamilton performance at the Large Lawn of Sapphire Lutheran Homes. Over 600 people stood up and cheered as the cast took their bows and then started tearing down the set, getting ready to head out on the road to its next destination. The Montana State University-based program has been doing this for 46 years!

The show had a little bit of everything - some romance, an evil plot, a bit of swordplay, some "asides" to audience by the villain, murder, suicide, and a moral to the story. Bravo to the cast: Yao Dogbe, Miles Duffey, Charolette Mae Ellison, Kristin Hammargren, Jordan Gleaves, Joe Faifer, Madison Hart, Jordan Pettis, Emily Wold, Josh Zwick and director Kevin Asselin. By the way, if you want to see it again or catch their other production "Love's Labor's Lost," Shakespeare in the Parks will be at the University of Montana Oval with Othello August 27 and Love's Labor's Lost August 28. Shows start at 6 p.m.
