MONTANA: Check Your Freezer for Recalled Ground Beef, Patties, Possible E. Coli
Over 121,000 pounds of ground beef and beef patties are being recalled nationwide with various labels. Some are higher end Kobe, wagyu and grass fed products. We've got the full list of product AND their labels.
There are lots of different brands and products involved in this beef recall. It's absolutely worth checking your fridge and freezer and check what brands of ground beef and/or ground beef patties you may have.
This recall is for over TWO MONTHS of produced ground beef from the facility in question. "The ground beef products were produced from February 1, 2022, through April 8, 2022."
Products in question were shipped nationwide. The good news is that so far, there is not a lot of reported illness. However, the ground beef and beef patties were shipped and sold nationwide so the recall is widespread.
This is just ONE of the many labels/brands included in this recall:
April 25, 2022 – Lakeside Refrigerated Services, a Swedesboro, N.J. establishment, is recalling approximately 120,872 pounds of ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O103, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The recalled products include many brands of ground beef in normal packaging, but also many brands of frozen beef patties. Many of the products are more high-end such as Kobe beef and Wagyu beef. Others are prominently labeled "grass fed".
The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 46841” inside the USDA mark of inspection. That's what you're looking for on your ground beef packages. If you find that number, do not eat the product, obviously.
Either throw it away or take it back to the point of purchase for a refund. (Stores are always looped in when there's a big recall. You shouldn't have any trouble getting your money back.)
