The Missoula Urban Indian Health Center's 3rd annual Indigenous Film Festival kicks off this Friday night at the Missoula Community Theatre. The theme of this year’s festival is 'celebrating indigenous female film making.'

Join the MUIHC tomorrow (4/12) from 5 to 9 p.m. for traditional indigenous food, knowledgeable panelists, and a celebration of indigenous female film making! See the full Friday schedule here.

On Saturday, the 13th, the film "This May Be The Last Time" will be shown at 3 p.m.

Tracing a heartfelt journey, award-winning filmmaker Sterlin Harjo interweaves the tale of a mysterious death in 1962 with the rich history of the powerful hymns that have united Native American communities in times of worship, joy, tragedy, and hope. By investigating the stories of these songs, this illuminating film takes us on an epic tour as we travel with the power of the music through Southwest America, slavery in the deep South, and as far away as the Scottish Highlands.

Be there at 6:30 p.m. for the Montana premiere of "Falls Around Her," a film that "beautifully captures the nuance and rhythms of northern life on a small Anishinaabe First Nation reservation."

See the full Saturday schedule here. Admission is $5 on Friday and $10 on Saturday, or a canned goods donation to the Missoula Food Bank at the door. Traditional indigenous foods will be available, as well as vendors, and door prizes will be drawn throughout the event!
