Missoula Police Arrest Two Men For Possessing Methamphetamine

At around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, a Missoula Police officer was driving through a parking lot in the 2700 block of Reserve Street. The officer observed a male, known to him as Ivan Bobko, getting out of a vehicle. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The officer observed further knowing that Bobko had an outstanding warrant for his arrest,” Welsh said. “As Bobko went into the place of business, the officer called for backup and waited for them to arrive before confronting Bobko. At the same time, the officer observed a second vehicle that was occupied by two men known to be associates of Bobko and also known to have been engaged in drug activity in the past.”

When the backup arrived, Bobko was taken into custody. According to Welsh, officers discovered that Bobko was in possession of a substance that was later determined to be methamphetamine.

“The other two males were identified,” Welsh said. “One of them, 35-year-old Patrick Schatz, was found to have local warrants. Schatz was also in possession of a substance that was later determined to be methamphetamine. He also was in possession of drug paraphernalia.”

Bobko and Schatz were both placed under arrest and charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs. Bobko was out on bail after being arrested for felony burglary just three weeks ago.
