In appreciation for the tireless service of healthcare workers, first responders, and others who are fighting COVID-19, McDonald's is doing something pretty cool - they're offering those individuals free "Thank You Meals" from now until May 5th.

Here's how it works - first, you have to be a healthcare worker, police officer, firefighter, paramedic, or someone who fits that description, because they will be checking IDs. You'll be able to pick up your meal through drive-through or carry-out free of charge, and the meal will also include a note of appreciation.

Here are the options available for the free meal:

Breakfast

• A choice of an Egg McMuffin®, Chicken McGriddles® or a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit. All options come with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a Hash Brown.

Lunch and Dinner

• A choice of a Double Cheeseburger, 6-Piece Chicken McNuggets® or a Filet-O-Fish® will be offered. All options come with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and small fries.

This is definitely a nice move, though I think they should extend the deadline from May 5th and just say it's a permanent feature until the pandemic is behind us. But you can check out more info over at McDonald's website.
