Technology is taking over the world with each rotation around the sun. They say that humans are always going to make mistakes, and that none of us are perfect, but it kind of seems like machines aren't immune to error, either.

Tesla has had some known issues in the past with their technology and computer systems, so what happened in this case is not so much a surprise as it is a shock.

Kassandra Pineda was charging her electric car at a Tesla supercharger station in Los Angeles. When she exited the vehicle to remove the charging cable, the doors suddenly locked, locking her 13-month-old baby inside.

Teslas have cameras on them to record the perimeter of the car, so all of this was caught on video.

Pineda panicked, like anyone would, and immediately screamed for help while trying to punch out the windows of the Tesla herself.

The mom told Inside Edition after the incident that she "just wanted to cut the car in half." It was a fiery 109 degrees that day, and her toddler was in the carseat turning red and sweating.

A bystander named Adrian Ortega, who was charging his car next to Pineda, came to assist and was punching the windows, too, and even threw a large fishing weight at the window.

Unfortunately, it would not break.

Pineda tells KTVU-TV that her biggest fear was "opening that door and taking my son out of the car, without his life."

Ortega went to his trunk again and found a giant steel anchor rod and they both continued beating on Pineda's Tesla windows until one finally broke.

After 8 minutes in the car with no air conditioning, the baby boy was rescued, though he was drenched in sweat.

Pineda called Tesla and was told that there was a software update that may have caused the problem. But after taking it to the dealership, they ran some tests and didn't find anything wrong with the car.

A similar scenario played out recently when an Arizona grandmother buckled her grandchild into their carseat and closed the door, and the doors locked.

13 Country Stars Whose Kids We Never See

For every country artist that invites the world to see their kids, there is one who would rather you focus on the back of his head. These 13 country artists are quietly (or in one case, not) private when it comes to their kids. That means very few pictures and short responses if asked about them.
