Missoula Police Catch Drug Dealer Following Store Theft
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On June 1, 2024, Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to a report of theft from a local store. The Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) said a male stole a flashlight and fled in a vehicle.
Officers responded and located the vehicle. They observed a female, identified as 46-year-old Monica Green, in the front passenger seat. The driver was identified and it was determined that he had warrants for his arrest and he matched the description of the male who committed the theft. He was arrested.
Officers determined Green was the registered owner of the vehicle. An officer also determined that Green was on probation. A probation officer requested that law enforcement search Green and her vehicle. The officer located a baggie of meth tucked in Green’s bra along with a $20 bill.
The officer then started searching the vehicle. He located two more baggies of meth in the glove box. Each bag contained 3.5 grams of meth, which is the typical sale weight commonly referred to as an “eight ball” or an eighth of an ounce. A digital scale was also located inside the glove box. The officer also located approximately $1,149 in Green’s wallet.
Several weapons, such as small knives, a taser, and a hatchet were also visible in the vehicle. The officer knows from training and experience that individuals involved in illegal narcotics often carry weapons with them to prevent others from stealing their drugs.
