Don’t Believe the Rumors: One of Your Favorite Fair Foods Will be at the Western Montana Fair

We're so excited that the Western Montana Fair starts this week. We're looking forward to sitting in the new grandstand, seeing our favorite DJ call bingo, and of course, all of the fair food.

We asked which foods people were looking forward to at this year's and got classic and tasty answers:

• Indian tacos and funnel cake - Amber
• Easy, Vikings! - Tony
• Lemondairy, cotton candy, vikings, fry bread, tacos and nacos - Celia
• Indian taco - Ardyce
• Montana Q BBQ Sandwich - Sabrina

But then we got a response from Holly that caught our attention:

"Vikings, but they aren't going to be there this year."

Wait, what?!

Myth: Western Montana Fair Won't Have Vikings This Year

We had heard that Vikings wouldn't be available at the Montana State Fair, but we hadn't heard anything about whether or not this would affect the Western Montana Fair.

Then, we got an email from Eivind Gjetmundsen, President, Normanden Lodge, Sons of Norway Missoula, and he set the record straight.

Fact: Western Montana Fair WILL Have Vikings This Year

In his email, Gjetmundsen said, "There WILL be Vikings at the Missoula fair again this year -- just like the last 50-plus years."
