Parts of Montana have already experienced emergency travel-only situations due to road conditions, and the winter driving season has just begun. There will only be more situations like this on the horizon as we are entering winter.   

Montana driving isn’t for the faint of heart, even when the weather cooperates. We are in one of the worst states in the country for both teen drivers and drunk driving fatalities. When you add snow and freezing rain to the mix, it just makes everything that much worse.  

Why Montana Winter Roads Are Especially Dangerous

When that first snow of the season hits, lots of drivers may need a reminder on how to drive in winter weather. It isn’t always easy. This year, I’m driving a vehicle I don’t have much snow experience with. Even though I haven’t driven it that much, there are still some universal truths of driving in Montana in the winter.
