[UPDATE]: Missoula Paddlehead Adam Fogel Ties Home Run Record
[UPDATE 8/15 6:00 AM]: Adam Fogel of the Missoula Paddleheads tied the all-time single-season home run record with his 32nd blast of the year on Wednesday, August 14 against the Great Falls Voyagers. Fogel has 22 more games to stand alone.
Every year the Missoula Paddleheads do something extraordinary. Whether they're winning more regular season championships, capturing a post-season title or setting records, the Paddleheads always make noise in the Pioneer Baseball League.
This year, it's one player in particular attempting to place himself in the PBL record books. In a lineup that is mashing the ball, it's left fielder Adam Fogel leading the charge. Fogel is hitting a staggering .405, trailing only his teammate Mike Rosario (.419) atop the PBL league leaders. The left fielder is first in the league with 97 RBI and leads in home runs. How many home runs? Well, he's one off the all-time mark for most in a season, also held by a former Paddlehead.
