It’s A Tree – No, It’s A Cell Tower
Just after the first of the year, crews installed Hamilton's newest cell tower at the northwest corner of the Riverview Cemetery. Following a debate last year, the Hamilton City Council and zoning officials approved the project, allowing Verizon to lease the land for the new structure. Hamilton Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf said lease payments will help with upkeep of the cemetery. Verizon hired a company to install the tower this winter (see photo below), using a crane. The design mimics an evergreen tree. A wall also separates the equipment shed from the cemetery. The tower is next to other evergreens, on the edge of the property facing the Bitterroot River.
