Here’s What’s Playing At The Roxy Garden in September

Movie theaters in Montana have been allowed to reopen in Montana for a while now, and the AMC movie theaters in town finally opened their doors this past weekend, but The Roxy Theater still remains closed, and likely will be until their staff personally feels safe reopening again. Luckily, they've managed to find alternative avenues to keep providing Missoula with great moviegoing experiences - they've been allowing private movie rentals at the theater, and of course they've been doing Centerfield Cinema at Ogren Park all summer. And, just a few weeks ago, they finally opened The Roxy Garden, a small, outdoor venue behind the theater where they can screen movies and hold events.

I've been there a couple of times now, to check out Singin' in the Rain and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, and am already looking forward to more visits. A reminder: The Roxy is an independent, nonprofit theater and an essential part of Missoula's arts community, and if you're able, I'd urge everyone to support them now more than ever.

It helps that they always program some great movies too, which makes them pretty easy to support. So what's on the schedule for September? Here's what they got:

9/4, 9/5, 9/6 - Dazed and Confused 

9/11, 9/12, 9/13 - A Hard Day's Night

9/18, 9/19, 9/20 - Best in Show

9/25, 9/26, 9/27 - Smoke Signals

That's a pretty great lineup - I've already gotten my tickets for Dazed and Confused, and I'm definitely excited to jam to Beatles songs with a small crowd for A Hard Day's Night. I haven't seen Best in Show in forever, and have actually never seen Smoke Signals, but I've heard that it's great.

If you're planning to go to one of these screenings, I'd recommend getting your tickets as early as possible. The Roxy Garden only seats 24 people, so these tend to sell out fast. You can find all the info at the Roxy's website. Will you be checking any of these out?
