First Ever Pride Month Celebration in Ronan
There's been some talk about a controversial bakery re-locating from Oregon to Ronan after they refused service to a same sex couple. Rather than stoop to their hateful level and protesting, Flathead residents have been supporting the local bakeries in the area and promoting LGBTQ friendly businesses like ZooTown Cookies, Frosting Cakery, Ronan Harvest Foods Bakery, and Dixon Mercantile.
In addition, SAFE Harbor will host Pride Month festivities this Saturday, June 26th from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ronan City Park. It is said to be the first Pride celebration in the area and allies from all over Western Montana plan to join the picnic and fun to show young LGBTQ+ folks in the area that they are supported. After all, it is Indian country, and Native Americans have a long tradition of honoring our Two Spirit tribal members.
If you can't make it up north, you can celebrate Pride Month right here in Missoula at Imagine Nation Brewing. This year's colorful celebration is set for Saturday, June 26th in-person from noon to 8 p.m. hosted by the Western Montana LGBTQ & Community Center along with the Gay Health Task Force.
