Please don't leave! Please don't leave! Please don't leave! :-) Well, you know other schools are bound to come calling eventually.

But for now, he is our Montana Grizzly guy and we wanted to congratulate head basketball coach Travis DeCuire, who on Wednesday was named National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 6 Coach of the Year. The district includes the Big Sky and Western Athletic Conferences.

This is an award voted on by fellow basketball coaches all over the country. Notable winners this year include Mark Few of Gonzaga, Tony Bennett of Virginia, Bill Self of Kansas and Rick Barnes of Tennessee. So Coach DeCuire is keeping pretty good company.

Travis, who earlier this month was named Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year, led Montana to a 26-8 overall record, winning both the regular season and conference tournament titles. With the departure of only one senior, the team promises to be even more dynamic and exciting in 2018-19.

Great job and well-deserved Coach DeCuire, your staff and players. Can't wait to tip it off next fall!
