It's Senior Night for your University of Montana Lady Griz basketball team. And they almost didn't have any seniors to honor.

The Lady Griz play their final home game of the year tonight (Friday, March 3). They will be on their way to Reno to compete in the women's Big Sky Conference Basketball Tournament, starting Monday. We already know Montana is locked into a #11 seed and will play Monday night at 9:00. We will provide live coverage of the Lady Griz game on KGVO FM 98.3/AM 1290.

Due to season-ending injuries to seniors Kayleigh Valley and Alycia Sims (both have red-shirted and will play next season), Montana had no seniors on the roster just a few games into the 2016-17 campaign. Rachel Staudacher (No. 11) had decided not to return her senior year, to devote more focus on academics. But those injuries left the team so young and decimated, she decided to return to the team and contribute as much as she could. For someone who had not practiced yet this season and wasn't quite in game condition yet, that is a pretty noble commitment to team. And hopefully there is a huge crowd on hand tonight to honor her and cheer on the Lady Griz, hosting Idaho State.

Game time 7:05. Go Griz!
