If this stocking gets hung by the chimney with care, the chimney is going to need extra support. And somewhere in there is a contribution from Montana. And some Christmas jingle will go into the pockets of some children of fallen troops, too!

They will be unveiling a 1,600-pound, 7,700-square foot Christmas stocking at Arnette Park in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Saturday. It was crafted by knitters from all 50 states, along with some from Ireland and Canada. They donated 3-by3-foot swatches of knitted yarn, and yes, it does qualify for the Guinness Book of World Records.

And an added feel-good touch: A yarn company donated a portion of their sales that helped the stocking along to scholarships for the children of deceased U.S. military members...to the delightful Christmas tune of over $100,000 dollars!

Pretty cool undertaking. Congrats and thanks to all who helped make it happen.  DB
