Wynonna Judd was in attendance at late IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon’s funeral on Saturday morning (October 22). The singer delivered heartbreaking renditions of both ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘I Can Only Imagine’ at the services, which took place in St. Petersburg, Fla. Given the emotionally devastating circumstances, it wouldn’t be a stretch to think that this was one of the hardest performances of Judd’s life. Being called upon to sing at such a sad time requires incredible strength.

The Daily Mail reports that the flame-haired singer belted out the songs with a tissue clutched in her hand. Her little sister, actress Ashley Judd, also attended the services. Ashley’s husband is IndyCar champ Dario Franchitti, so Wheldon’s unexpected loss has hit the Judd family particularly hard.

Wheldon, 33, was tragically killed last weekend in a fiery accident during an IndyCar race in Las Vegas. He is survived by a wife and two sons.

Wheldon’s death affected many members of the country music community. Many stars reacted to the news of his death via Twitter as a way to mourn the lost of a man that several artists considered a friend. Once again, R.I.P., Dan Wheldon.
