I make my living through advertising, so I get the idea of coming up with new ways to generate revenue. I'm not sure if my fellow citizens would feel the same way under the circumstances, but at least one city is exploring the potential. Associated Press tells us that Bullhead City, Arizona is proposing selling advertisements on its fire trucks. Right now they're waiting on an OK from the fire district's governing board. The fire marshal says that nine potential advertisers have already shown an interest. And they estimate that ad space on fire trucks and ambulances could net as much as $85,000. I guess if business owners see a value and it helps the city's coffers, then win/win! But I'm sure some would question the ethics of it and want to give it the hook. And ladder. DB
