Quinoa is becoming one of those trendy items that is seeing a spike in demand. And the South American grain is taking roots in the northwest as a commercial crop. Naturally when celebrities talk it up, popularity increases. But it has a lot going for it due to everybody health food fans as well.

It has complete protein, rare for a grain. And it's gluten-free. Let us know if you've tried it and whether you like it. I'm sure I'll like it better and find it more useful than sprouts, but that's not saying much in my world.    DB
