Work-out Wednesdays today features the discussion about Self-control vs. Self-discipline. I wanted to share what Rachel from Title Boxing Club wrote in this week's newsletter.

When it comes to changing your body and your lifestyle, you have to choose between the two approaches mentioned above.

The self-control approach is the approach that most of us are very familiar with. If you follow the self-control approach you will say things like: “I CAN’T have a chocolate right now, because it’s not on my plan” or “I HAVE to go workout today.”

If you follow the self-discipline approach you will say thing like: “I CHOOSE not to have that chocolate now, because it will take me further away from my goal” or “I WANT to go workout today”.

The big difference between the two approaches is that with the self-discipline approach you have a CHOICE and the decisions that you make are decisions that you WANT to make, while with the self-control approach you make decisions because you feel you HAVE to.

Although you’ll get results by following both approaches, when it comes to changing your lifestyle or changing your body, we are always looking for a sustainable plan and approach.

Studies suggest and have shown in the past that people perform better when they know that they have a choice.

So you have to ask yourself which direction are YOU taking to reach your goal?
