For the 34th year, the volunteers will gather at Lost Trail Powder Mountain to help with the Bitterroot Winter Special Olympics.

The two-day event starts with registration at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, and opening ceremonies will be at 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday evening, the athletes will enjoy a banquet and dance at the Bitterroot River Inn with the theme "Roar of the Jungle."

Wednesday, competition will include snowshoe, skiing, snowboard and cross-country skiing. The closing ceremonies will be at 2:30 p.m. January 28.

Volunteers are still needed for many activities. No winter sports skills are needed. Call Carla at 363-3028.
