"Well it was Thursday, Thanksgiving Day 1992. My step Mom and her friend from Helena, MT arrived to have dinner with my boyfriend and I.
We were about ready for our Holiday feast. I went in to my kitchen, where just moments before, I had taken the 16 pound turkey out of my oven and had it resting on the platter. Imagine my surprise, shock, and fury, to find my 75 pound pit bull dog practically devouring the turkey as it lay on the floor. How she got it off the platter without it hitting the floor and breaking I have no idea. None the less. We had a nice meal of all the trimmings, green bean casserole, yams, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy from the pan drippings. But no turkey that year for our Thanksgiving dinner. Thankfully... we had stuffing as I baked it separate from the bird. Yikes. Poor dog was in a lot of trouble and we prayed there weren't any turkey bone issues with her later. There weren't."
