UM’s spring 2012 central commencement ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Washington Grizzly Stadium.

Where can I park?

All campus parking lots will be open to the public on graduation day. Parking will also be available on the residential streets surrounding UM. If you’d rather avoid the inevitable graduation day traffic jam altogether, head to one of the Park-N-Ride lots on East Broadway or near Dornblaser Field. Buses will run continuously from 7:25 a.m. to 4:25 p.m.

Do I need a ticket?

Nope. It’s open seating, so no ticket is required. But if you have a large group, you might want to get there early to make sure everyone gets to sit together.

How long will the ceremony last?

The central ceremony will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Graduates will then have the opportunity to attend smaller ceremonies for their specific schools, which generally last about an hour.

What if it rains?

We’re all crossing our fingers for dry weather, but when it’s spring in Montana, you just never know. Barring severe or dangerous weather, the show will go on — so don’t pack away that parka just yet.
