Welcome Back, Conference Champs

So, how many men’s Big Sky Conference Track and Field Championships would you say the Montana Grizzlies have won? The answer is one. That was in 1972 and that team will be holding a 40-year reunion here in Missoula on Friday and Saturday.  This coincides with The Tom Gage Classic, the Grizzlies’ last-chance meet that’s being held at Dornblaser Field Friday afternoon. The reunion starts Friday at noon at Dornblaser. There will be a tent with refreshments for the 1972 teaml. Other activities include a no-host buffet at the Elbow Room Friday evening.  I bet they have a great time talking about what track meets were like back in the day. And hey, they still got that one and only championship ring!    DB
