Carrie Underwood’s new video premiered on E! Monday night. It certainly is a contrast to her “Good Girl” video.  Where “Good Girl” was glitzy and very up-tempo and played on Carrie’s good looks with lots of glamor shots her latest is very dramatic.

“Blown Away” deals with a lot of human issues;  an abusive father, alcoholism, and growing up without a mother.  It’s dark with lots despair, “there’s not enough wind in Oklahoma to rip the nails out of the past” she sings.

It’s a real theatrical production with some Wizard of Oz references, there’s even a dog in it and a yellow brick road. But it’s not in Kansas; no self-respecting Checotah, Oklahoma girl would allow that.
