I was never much of a football card collector. Mom would have accidentally thrown them out anyway. Just like my baseball cards. :-) I did have a few dandies, though. Ah, well...I think it's pretty cool that the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is embracing the Super Bowl craze coming to their city. They will be presenting a display of vintage football cards. Actually 150 of the cards even predate the NFL in 1920. The museum curator says the cards are part of our printed visual culture. Yeah, and there will be a heck of a lot of football fans in town, so why not give them something to perhaps increase the chances they'll come visit? The exhibit runs January 24 through February 10, so if you happen to be a lucky cuss that gets to go keep it in mind. And if you find an Otto Graham card in the display, it may be mine! DB
