You have to go very deep to find any highlights for the Montana Grizzlies on a miserable day in Portland, Oregon Saturday.  We mean miserable in terms of the weather (a downpour) and in terms of the way the Portland State Vikings destroyed the Griz 35-16 in Big Sky Conference football action.

The game was gloomy from the start, as Portland State jumped out to a 14-point lead in the first quarter. What has to be most demoralizing for the Montana defense was the Viking scoring plays: touchdown passes of 41 and 46 yards and touchdown runs of 35, 38 and 49 yards.

Montana falls to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big Sky Conference. Backs really to the wall now. Gotta run the table to keep the season alive for any chance of being in the playoffs. It starts Saturday, November 7 in Pocatello against Idaho State.  DB
