Admit it, I had you from "Free ice cream." And what a great way to welcome new UM students! The 13th annual University Community Ice Cream Social to welcome new and returning University of Montana students to campus and to Missoula neighborhoods is Sunday, September 14. The free event is from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the 400 block of University Avenue. The street party will feature live music from the hillbilly jazz band Barnaby Wilde, along with appearances by UM mascot Monte and UM and city officials. Participants can converse with their neighbors, browse informational tables and enjoy delicious Big Dipper Ice Cream. Sorbet will be available for dairy-free diets. Here's to a warm, sunny day perfect for ice cream! But then, what day isn't perfect for ice cream!  DB
