UM’s Ward Has Surgery

What an unfortunate way for the career of such a talented player and terrific young man to end. We received word today (Wednesday, March 6) that University of Montana Grizzly Basketball standout Mathias Ward, who was injured February 16, had surgery this morning and will miss the rest of the season. Ward had started the first 24 games this season and was the team's leading scorer. Mathias also was a starter on last season's NCAA tourney team. He and Will Cherry (who is also dealing with an injury) will be recognized on Senior Night prior to UM's home game against Northern Arizona Saturday night. I know the team will be motivated to win that conference title for their senior leaders. Thanks, Mathias. You are one of my all-time favorites! DB
